  • Actions required:

There are certain actions that must be taken immediately to prevent the boat and its passengers from more loss. These actions are listed below:

  • First things first. The boat should be stopped without losing a single more moment. It is beacuse the further movement of the boat may cause more hazardous outcomes to come. Therefore, in order to prevent loss anymore, the operator or the captain must cease the movement of the boat.
  • Safety should be a priority. It must be made sure that everyone on the boat including the crew and the passengers are safe and sound. It must be looked if someone has slipped into the water by accident. Make sure no harm has come to anyone.
  • If there are some passengers who are harmed or injured then they must be treated then and there. They should be given the first aik treatment. By unfortunate condition, if someone has fallen overboard then he must be taken out of the water using the rope or with the assistance of someone. Also notice if he is wearing a PFD or a life jacket. This can be proved beneficial.
  • Then stop the engine. If there is a fire because of the accident then engine must be turned off because the working of the engine can also add fuel to the fire and that can lead to more fire. Then, fire can spread quickly. Also look for the leaks i.e. if the boat is damaged from someone because of the accident. If there are leaks somewhere then it must be made right without any delay.
  • There are VHF radios on the boats. These are used for the communication purposes and information transfer. Look for this radio. If the boat has it then communicate with the emergency services or the coast guards immediately. If radio is not found then with the help of mobile phone this procedure must take place.
  • The authorities or the emergency services must be informaed fully about the kind of accident and how much harm it has brought with it. Also if there are some serious injuries or death cases then they must also be communicated.
  • If there are some other parties involved in the accident, then information between them should also be exchanged. And details should be taken care of.

  • Conclusion:

The boat operator has to look after many crucial matters and therefore is loaded with responsibility. He must do his duties well and act as expected of him to act in the serious circumstances e.g. accidents.
